Job Title: Commercial Property Solicitor – Tunbridge Wells
Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent
We are seeking a full-time Commercial Property Solicitor to join our team at the Tunbridge Wells office. The role will be a mixture of landlord and tenant transactional work. You will be acting for developers to acquire land for developments, alongside acting for sellers of land for: development, financing transactions, solar farm leasing, some agricultural land conveyancing, acting for lenders, and general commercial property conveyancing.
We have a highly collegiate, non-hierarchical and open minded management style at Buss Murton. You will be encouraged to establish and develop relationships with clients and other professionals as well as to find your own ‘brand’ within the community in the South East.
Main Objectives of the Role:
- To manage a full and varied case load unsupervised, working on your own initiative
- To increase the fee income of property work
- To seek to promote our services
- To comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules of the SRA Code of Conduct
- To ensure continued compliance with Lexcel Standards
- To ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan (balanced scorecard) found within QMIS.
Key tasks (this list is not exhaustive)
- Day to day conduct of matters on behalf of clients respect of all commercial property matters
- Explaining complex legal matters to clients
- Supervision of fee earning work undertaken by colleagues
- Supervision of support services for which you are responsible
- Financial control with regard to cashflow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures
- To meet agreed time recording, billing and recovery of costs targets.
To Develop and Maintain Client Relationships
- To ensure the client is regularly informed of work in progress and ensuring continued contact is maintained.
- To exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner at all times.
- To manage all client work in accordance with the procedures and quality standards as contained within QMIS.
- To take positive steps to ensure that existing clients are aware of various types of legal work carried out by the firm.
- To participate in marketing activities and taking advantage of networking and business development opportunities.

Job Title: Company & Commercial Solicitor – Tunbridge Wells
Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent
We are seeking a full-time Company and Commercial Solicitor with 2-4 year PQE to join our team at the Tunbridge Wells office. You will get the supervision you need to do a great job for our clients but with the scope to be able to manage matters using your own judgement as well.

Job Title: Residential Property Solicitor / FILEx / Licensed Conveyancer – Tunbridge Wells
Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent
We are seeking a full-time Residential Property Solicitor/FILEx or Licensed Conveyancer to join our busy property team at Tunbridge Wells.
The role would suit someone who has a high degree of residential property experience (3-5 PQE) running their own caseload and someone who has aspirations for progression.You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Protocol, and experience of working within the CQS framework.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with a high level of attention to detail in order to sustain the quality of service we deliver to our clients.
Key responsibilities for this role are:

Job Title: Secretary and Administrative Assistant – Tunbridge Wells
Contract Type: Full Time - Maternity Leave Cover
We are seeking a secretary for our Private Client department in our Tunbridge Wells office, as a full time role covering maternity leave. We are looking for someone who has a good level of IT skills in all areas of Word, Outlook and Excel.
Main Objectives of the Role:
- To act as a point of contact for the private client department.
- To provide direct support to your department to enable the fee-earners to operate at optimum efficiency.This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below. You are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative
- In addition to providing support to the department, you will be required to provide support for other departments as and when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Answer telephone calls promptly in a polite and confident manner, taking clear and precise messages for timely submission to the relevant fee-earner.
- Administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing (including client balances), storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the firm’s procedures and Lexcel compliancy, along with photocopying, scanning, client visits.
- Prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
- Make appointments, arrange meeting rooms and maintain an up-to-date Calendar for your fee-earner(s).
- To engross Wills and other documents.
- To assist in drafting documentation such as Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- To act as first point of contact for clients who either telephone into your department or come into the office in person, taking relevant information and passing promptly to the Department Manager who will decide who will act.
- Undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and client documentation and information.
