Job Title: Dispute Resolution Solicitor – Minimum 5 years PQE


We are seeking a full-time Solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team in Tunbridge Wells.

The firm values its relationships with its employees working with them to realise their full potential. Working within modern offices in the centre of the town, you will advise on a wide range of matters with a bias towards property litigation. You will be providing legal services to both individuals and businesses. The firm is Lexcel and IIP accredited.

This is a full time permanent role which would suit someone who has a minimum of 5 years PQE and a desire to progress their career.

You will take over part of an existing caseload and have experience in general litigation, including property, civil and some commercial. This role will require a large degree of business development and for the right candidate there is clear career progression into a management role, potentially Partnership.

You will be self-sufficient and have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills together with a high level of attention to detail in order to sustain the quality of service we deliver to our clients.

Job Title: Residential Property Solicitor/Licensed Conveyancer


Contract Type: Permanent

Minimum: 2-3 years PQE

We are seeking a full-time Residential Property Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join our busy Property team at our Dartford office.

The role would suit someone who has a high degree of residential property experience running their own case load and someone who has aspirations for progression.

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Protocol, with experience of working within the CQS framework.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with a high level of attention to detail in order to sustain the quality of service we deliver to our clients.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

  • To increase the fee income of property work
  • To manage a full and varied case load unsupervised, working on your own initiative

Job Title: Legal Secretary – (Litigation team)


Contract Type: Permanent – full-time

We are seeking a full time legal secretary for our litigation team in Tunbridge Wells. Ideally, the role requires someone who has experience in the areas of Dispute Resolution and Family as you will be expected to competently perform the key tasks set out below.

You should be highly organised and have the ability to apply attention to detail in all areas of your work, producing accurate typing from digital dictation. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about their career and has a good work ethic. Flexibility and adaptability are also important aspects of this role. In addition, you will have a high standard of client care and effectiveness.

Main objectives of the role:

  • To act as a point of contact for the Litigation team.
  • To provide direct secretarial and administrative support to the team (both Litigation and Family) to enable the fee-earners to operate at optimum efficiency. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below. You are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.
  • In addition to providing support to the department, you will be required to provide support for other departments when the need arises.
  • To ensure you are sufficiently trained on our case management system to be able to fully utilise the available features of the department module.

Key tasks:

  • Prepare correspondence and documents generally via digital dictation.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly (within 3 rings) in a polite and confident manner, taking clear and precise messages for time submission to the relevant fee-earner.
  • Administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the firm’s procedures and Lexcel compliancy.
  • Prepare Court documents.
  • Prepare bundles for court/counsel.
  • Prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
  • Ensure that all copying is done.
  • Make appointments, arrange meeting rooms and maintain an up to date Outlook Calendar for your fee-earners.
  • Provide support to other secretaries/departments as required.
  • To act as first point of contact for all clients who either telephone in to the department or come into the office in person, taking relevant information and passing promptly to the Department Manager who will decide who will act.
  • To arrange fee-earning department meetings and take minutes.
  • To supervise temporary secretarial staff and work experience placements.
  • To liaise with IT and provide basic IT support and training to other members of the department.
  • Undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients documentation and information.

Job Title: Private Client Solicitor/Fellow or Associate of CILEx–


Minimum: 3-4 PQE

This is a part time, permanent role which would suit someone who is seeking a long term and evolving role within an established firm with a desire to expand its current reach into the communities we already have a presence in.

You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing, together with a high level of attention to detail in order to sustain the quality of service we deliver to our clients.

We would expect you to have completed or be part way through completion of STEP qualification.

  • You should be well organised particularly with regard to file management and time management.

You should be able to demonstrate a good level of experience in the following areas:

  1. Detailed probate case management ability, from the start of a probate to the very end stages. This will include a detailed knowledge of IHT as far as IHT paperwork associated with probate is concerned, a familiarity with a wide variety of assets (to include ‘financial product’ such as investments bonds, discounted gifts trusts, gift and loan arrangements) (and experience of foreign elements as well) that the more complex probates will require, the ability to draft non-standard applications for grant of representation, and the ability to ‘problem solve.’
  2. You should be a competent Will drafter, and should be able to take instructions for a wide variety of Wills and to demonstrate drafting abilities from the precedents that we have at our disposal.
  3. Routine Court of Protection work i.e. not necessarily statutory Will and Gift applications, but ‘standard’ deputyship applications and LPA drafting /registration etc.
